It might have taken practically the whole night to cook half a piece of bacon up to just-about-edible (certainly not crispy!), but its probably worth it!
With all the holiday-makers in town, unfortunately the bowling alley was fully booked until the evening, so we had to revert to Plan C!
We split them into three groups and set about making our dinner – homemade burgers followed by muffins and cookies. As you can imagine, the kitchen will take some tidying!
Its lucky we hired the hall too, as it gave us the option of putting on something to entertain the masses when it was absolutely rinsing it down!
We’re having internet errors out here in the hills which prevents us from uploading the videos from the two waterproof cameras we have, so they will have to wait (watch out for updates in the future!)
We spent the day jumping in from as high as 20 metres, with the scouts absolutely loving it! The leaders had no option but to jump, as the scouts generally went first and it would have put us to shame.
We were particularly happy with Coasteering because the instructors told us that our group was ‘lovely’ and a ‘credit to the group’. Well done boys – at least they can pretend to be well behaved!?
It was Sweet and Sour chicken for tea, followed by the PLs trifle, before Badworthy won the wide game. Midnight feasts followed for the scouts.
Judge these efforts for yourself. The dance teacher reckoned that Badworthy’s effort (also featuring explorer Richard Cross) was best, which has won them 10 points towards the patrol competition!
