100 Years of Scouting in Marple!
2008 marks a special year in 1st Marple Scouts' history - We'll be 100 years old!
In the current day and age, with kids sitting at home texting and msn-ing each-other, we can take great pride in the fact that we're still going strong - with over 200 beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers!
In order to mark the special year, Marple are having two large events - Centenary Camp and the Centenary Night.
Centenary Camp will be an apt way for all of 1st Marple to celebrate 100 years of Scouting. Hopefully, all of Marple's current beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers, leaders and helpers will be up on site at Linnet Clough to have a memorable bank-holiday weekend.
We will also be holding a special Centenary Night at Stockport Town Hall, with all those adults, both past and present, that have been involved in the Groupinvited to join us for a sit-down meal followed by a Ceilidh!
We hope to see you there to help cap off a fantastic 100 years, and start a new centenary of Scouting in Marple!
